Edwina Hayes

EDWINA HAYES is a now a well established name on both the British and Nashville acoustic music scene.

Born in Dublin, and now based in Yorkshire, Edwina's beautifully crafted songs and natural stage presence are leading her to some of the UK's finest stages.
Edwina’s debut Warner Bros album OUT ON MY OWN included Clive Gregson, Dr Hook’s Dennis Locorriere and Christine Collister among its guest musicians - with one of its tracks chosen to go on the No.1 bestselling CD ‘Acoustic Love’.
With fans including Michael Parkinson and Bob Harris she has received much radio airplay which has led to her touring the UK by invitation three times with Nanci Griffith, opening twenty six shows for Jools Holland, plus many others for the likes of Van Morrison, Loudon Wainwright III and Barbara Dickson. The long queues for CD signings at such performances are testimony to her popularity and increasingly her own name is now headlining at venues. Her diary is invariably full of shows for months ahead in her own name both in the UK- and for her regular trips back to Nashville –where she once lived.

Her solo shows are a pleasing blend of well crafted songs - beautifully sung and played – coupled with a natural charm that audiences everywhere find appealing.

Her album POUR ME A DRINK built on the success of her debut – with its title track being covered by Nanci Griffith, and another used on the soundtrack of ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ – a major film starring Cameron Diaz which was released in 2009. The most recent Hayes album ‘GOOD THINGS HAPPEN OVER COFFEE’ has had outstanding feedback and remarkable sales figures. Her next album project is a live recording made by Abbey Road Studios – a chance to hear rare live gems –and solo versions of favourite album tracks – this is now ‘in the can’ and will be mastered for release shortly.  Edwina has just finished a long tour as support for FAIRPORT CONVENTION and had the time of her life!

“There are many un-mined treasures studding the UK’s live circuit and surely Yorkshire- based vocalist Edwina Hayes shines brightly among them. Possessed of a softly crystalline voice and a gentle country-folk sensibility she’s built up an enviable reputation as a solo artist”.  Rock & Reel

“We have not heard a singer, singing live, with such natural talent in many years.
